The IBU Anti-Doping Hearing Panel has informed the International Biathlon Union about the decision, dated on 24 April 2018, in the matter of Ms Ekaterina Glazyrina.
The IBU Anti-Doping Hearing Panel headed by Christoph Vedder, Professor of Law, Munich, Germany after holding a hearing on 16 October 2017, receiving vari-ous post hearing submissions and duly deliberating the facts and the law, rendered the following decision in accordance with article 8.2.1 of the IBU Anti-Doping Rules (IBU ADR):
1.Ms. Ekaterina Glazyrina of Russia is guilty of an anti-doping rule violation for “use” of a prohibited substance, according to the Article 2.2. IBU ADR.
2. Ms. Ekaterina Glazyrina is ineligible to compete for a period of 2 years from the date of this decision, 24 April 2018, with the period of the provisional suspension already served credited. *
3. All competitive results obtained by Ms. Ekaterina Glazyrina in the competitions she participated in from 19 December 2013 through 10 February 2017 are disquali-fied with all resulting consequences for medals, points and prizes.
According to Art. 13.7.1 the athlete has now 21 days to appeal before CAS.
*As communicated in the official IBU Press Release from 10 February 2017, the IBU Execu-tive Board supported the proposal of the IBU Working Group following McLaren II Report and provisionally suspended Ms. Ekaterina Glazyrina on 10 February 2017, during the IBU Biathlon World Championships 2017 in Hochfilzen, Austria.
